Privacy Policy Gdynia Venture Point

Last updated: May 24, 2024

Who manages your data?

Your data is cared for by the company Gdynia Venture Point. We are located in Gdynia at Aleja Zwycięstwa 96. If you have any questions about how we look after your information, you can write to us at email: kontakt@gdyniaventurepoint.pl or just call the number +48 58 620 11 32. We are locals, we act concretely and we don't do any tricks with your data. Your privacy is just as important to us as efficient port handling.

Why do we collect your information?

We collect data primarily so that we can work with you. When you fill out a form on our website, you give us your name, email, and telephone number. You do this so that we can call you back and talk about your logistics project. Without this information, we wouldn't know who we are supposed to help develop a business. If we start working together, we will need your data to issue invoices, sign office rental agreements, or arrange passes for the Port of Gdynia. Everything we do serves to get your project moving faster.

What data do we process?

We do not collect anything excessively. We are only interested in things that will allow us to contact and cooperate. These are usually: your name, email address, telephone number, and the name of your company if you already have one. Sometimes, when you describe your idea for maritime transport to us, you give us technical details of your project. Additionally, our website automatically records data about your device and IP address. We only do this for security reasons – we want to know that a real human is entering the site, not a malicious computer program trying to break our system.

Cookies

Our site uses so-called cookies. These are small text files that are saved in your browser. We use them so the site works quickly and efficiently. Thanks to them, we know, for example, which sections about logistics services are the most popular. We do not use cookies to track your every move on the net or show you shoe ads on other sites. We are only concerned with the convenience of using the Gdynia Venture Point website. If you don't want these files to stay with you, you can disable them in your browser settings. Remember, however, that then some functions of our site may work a little slower.

Who else sees your data?

We do not sell your data to any external companies or data brokers. Only our employees, like Dariusz, Marek, or Anna, have access to them, as they are the ones handling your support. Sometimes we have to pass some information to our proven partners who help us run the office. These are, for example, companies providing us with systems for sending emails, the accounting office that settles our joint projects, or security companies caring for safety in our building at Aleja Zwycięstwa. Each of these partners must care for your data just as strongly as we do. In exceptional situations, if legal regulations come into play, we may be obliged to transfer data to the relevant state authorities.

How do we care for security?

We know that in the maritime business and logistics, safety is fundamental. Therefore, our site has an SSL certificate (you see a padlock next to the address), which means that everything you enter in the form is transmitted by a secure connection. Our computers in the Gdynia office are protected by passwords, and only authorized persons have access to them. We don't leave papers with your data out and we make sure that no confidential information about your project leaks out. We apply the same rules that we would expect from a solid business partner ourselves.

Your rights to your data

You have the right to know exactly what we know about you. At any time, you can call or write to us with a request to inspect your data. If you notice that we have an error in the papers (for example, in a telephone number), we can correct it immediately. You can also ask for the complete deletion of your data from our database. We will do this immediately, unless the law requires us to keep certain documents (e.g., invoices) for a specified time. You also have the right to have us stop calling or writing to you if you decide you no longer want to cooperate with us. We respect your decisions and will not harass you.

How long do we keep information?

We keep your data only as long as is necessary. If you wrote to us with a question and it ended there, after some time we delete your message. However, if we sign a port or logistics support agreement, your data will stay with us for longer – as long as our cooperation lasts. After it ends, we must keep accounting and tax documents for a period of 5 years, as Polish law requires. When this time passes, we permanently destroy all documents that are no longer needed.

Changes to privacy rules

The world changes, and regulations in Poland may also change. Therefore, from time to time we may update this privacy policy. We do this so that it is always compliant with the law and clearly describes what we do. You will always find the date of the last update here, so you know if you are reading the latest rules. We will not introduce any significant changes without clear reason.

Contact in privacy matters

If anything in this text is unclear to you or too complicated, just let us know. We are a local company from Gdynia and we prefer to talk like human to human, instead of hiding behind difficult legal terms. You can visit us at the office at Aleja Zwycięstwa 96, call the number +48 58 620 11 32, or send a message to kontakt@gdyniaventurepoint.pl. We will be happy to answer any of your questions regarding your privacy and the security of your project.
